iMac Desktop Not Responding At Booting

Apple has introduced a low cost version called iMac in its range of desktop computers. This desktop is very easy to use and latest features embedded in it, iMac has been designed to target all the office and home users. iMac comes in four models: iMac G3, iMac G4, iMac G5 and iMac (Intel-based). These models differ in design with major changes in outer looks. iMac G5 uses the PowerPC chip architecture. Other design specifications include 10/100BASE-T Ethernet port, V.92 modem, serial ATA hard drive, video-out port and others.

But, sometimes, this is observed that iMac G5 stops responding at startup. The issue may lie in operating system, for which OS reinstallation and hence Mac Data Recovery can be required. Other problems include problematic external devices and hard drive issues. In order to see if it is not an external device problem, we need to first disconnect all of them including FireWire, Ethernet, mouse, keyboard and USB.

Then, we need to reconnect these devices one at a time and restart the computer system. If system stops responding only after connecting a specific device, then we need to replace the device. The issue can also be of corresponding cable. So we need to check for cable problem also and replace it. Another issue could be corrupt software. So we need to start the system using Software Install and Restore disc.

If system starts normally, then the issue is damaged software and we need to reinstall the operating system to get the fresh copy of software using Archive and Install method. If the issue still persists or hard disk is not visible while installing Mac OS X, the hard disk may have gone corrupt.

We can use Disk Utility or reformat the hard disk and recover the lost data using backup or Mac Recovery software. We can also use third-party Drive Utility to reformat the hard disk, if it is not visible even in Disk Utility. However, if the hard drive is still undetectable, we need to replace it as the issue can be physical. But, before that we need to extract data by availing Data Recovery Mac service .

Mac Recovery software are the scanning utilities for formatted hard disks which extract lost data, maintaining data integrity. However, under Mac Data Recovery service, the physically failed hard drive is repaired and lost data is extracted using advanced tools and techniques.

This Mac Recovery software is compatible with HFS, HFS+, HFSX and HFS Wrapper file systems. Phoenix Mac Data Recovery supports all Mac OS X 10.3.9 and above versions. Stellar also offers safe Mac Recovery service through Class 100 Clean Rooms, where experts extract lost data using appropriate tools and procedures.

iTunes Store Shared Folder Missing Issues

In Mac OS X apple provides us music player called iTunes which is a digital media player application. The application is available for both Macintosh and Windows operating systems. Using iTunes, we can play and organize digital music and video files on CDs, synchronize with iPod and iPhone. iTunes Store is the online digital media store and facilitates online music sales.

This facility acts like a music vendor. In Mac systems it is observed that the user becomes unable to make purchases from iTunes Store or an alert is encountered which describes that some required directory is either missing or has some permission issues:
“There was an error storing your authorization information on this computer. The required directory was not found or has a permission error”User may also fail to play music which has been purchased from iTunes Store. These issues arise because of the reason that Shared folder is found to be missing.

Shared Folder gives the ability to share the music with other accounts of computer system. Its default location is /Users/Shared.

In order to resolve the specified issues, we need to recreate the missing Shared Folder:

We can make use of Finder application to find the missing folder. We need to choose Go menu and then Got to Folder, type “/Users” and Click Go. Upon finding the Shared folder, we need to check the Ownership and Permission settings by clicking File->Get Info and then clicking disclosure triangle. They should be set to Read & Write in all three Owners, Group and Others sections.

However, if no folder exists in the Users folder, we can create a new and set its apt permissions. Alternatively, we can also use Terminal application to modify the permission settings through commands. But, this is recommended to use these commands, only when they are well known as incorrect commands may result data loss or unusable operating systems and create Mac Recovery needs.

We need to use sudo mkdir -p /Users/Shared command, press Return, enter administrator account password, press Return, type sudo chmod 777 /Users/Shared command and then again press Return. However in any case, data gets lost due to incorrect commands, we can use Mac Data Recovery software to extract lost data.Data Recovery Mac applications are graphically rich utilities which can scan and recover lost information and restore them safely.

Mac Data Recovery software use powerful scanning algorithms which extract data, maintaining the data integrity. For effective Mac Recovery, this is advised not to install the software on the same hard drive, from which data has got lost.Mac Data Recovery software supports Mac OS X 10.3.9 and above and is compatible to be used with disks having HFS, HFS+, HFSX and HFS Wrapper file systems.

Mac OS X FileVault Space Reclaiming Error

Apple has provided Mac OS X with facility of encrypting information in home folder through FileVault, which helps in protecting the files. The application uses Advanced Encryption Standard algorithm to encrypt the home directory and the encrypted file system is mounted and unmounted as the user logs in and out of the Mac computer system.

Thus the Mac system can avoid Mac Data Recovery needs because with encryption done, accidental deletion and sabotage like cases decrease to an extent.FileVault creates a separate volume for the home folder before encrypting its contents. Before the system may sleep, restart or shut down, the system asks to reclaim the space. This process is a necessary part of the whole encryption procedure.

But, the problem may arise if after reclaiming the space, users lose some preference settings. Preference settings are the user specific settings for the system and applications. The customizations done in this way are done are store as .plist files. So losing them is not taken for good. In order to avoid losing preference settings as an effect of space reclaiming through FileVault, we need to install Mac OS X 10.3.1 and the later updates, which are free from these issues.

However, we can also turn off FileVault in the security or Account preferences. This should be taken care of that while FileVault is reclaiming the disk space, the system should not be restarted or else major data loss can be encountered. Unexpected power loss while the same process also contributes to create Mac Recovery needs. Data lost in this way is however recoverable through Data Recovery Mac utilities.

Mac Recovery software can scan and recover the lost information and then restore it at the safe location. Data Recovery Mac software are special tools to extract the lost information through a set of algorithms. This is recommended not to install Mac Data Recovery software on the affected hard drive so as to avoid permanent data loss due to overwriting.

Mac File Recovery is feasible for FAT, HFS, HFSX, HFS+ and HFS Wrapper file systems. Data Recovery Mac has an interactive interface and possesses worth recovery and restoration options.
