Sometimes, you may realize that your Mac has become slower and not performing the regular operations in its usual speed. After using the system for a period of time, almost every Mac user encounters the problem of ‘slow Mac’. The simple and straight reason behind this problem is that your system has gathered many unwanted files in it.
Unwanted files and applications eat up drive space and make the system slow. Unfortunately, Mac does not provide any option to speedup Mac and hence, you need to take the help of any third-party utility.
As Mac systems are good at almost everything that a user does with his/her computer, it is not only used by all categories of users, but also for all purposes, from office work to entertainment. Entertainment is related to music, videos, movies etc. Users download these files and don’t remove them after use, which occupy significant amount of drive space.
Similarly, while doing office work, users copy files from their backup folders to their system, forget to delete them after usage. This process continues and soon the system contains many duplicate copies of files.
Mac is very good for graphics and thus is widely used by graphics designers and animation programmers. Graphics files are sometimes very large in size and the developers work on a copy of the main file. In such a process, sometimes many step-wise copies of the main file are made. Even after the job is over, developers forget to remove the duplicate copies and many such large files remain in the hard drive memory.
Similarly, with every instance of Internet connection, the Mac system creates many temporary files and cache, which are useless for any further instance. Apart from this, with every installation of applications and games, many supporting files for different international languages get installed on the system.
All these unwanted large files, duplicate files, language files and various temporary files, make the Mac system slower than when it was new. However, you can clean these unnecessary files and regain the actual performance of your Mac.
But, manually, finding all those unwanted files and deleting them is tedious process. That is why, many Mac cleanup utilities have been developed, using which you can cleanup your Mac and make the fast again. Note that these Mac utilities are completely read-only in their operations and thus are safe on your data.
