All the Home Directories are stored in Users Folders. These folders help maintaining system and data security, except for the administrative users, none of the unauthorized user can access these folders, thus prevent Mac Data Recovery requirements. When a particular user is deleted, the corresponding folder must be deleted. In Mac OS X 10.2 and later, user’s folders are treated differently as compared to that in earlier versions.
In earlier versions, if the administrator tries to delete the Home Directory of deleted user, then it can’t be accomplished by simply dragging the folder to Trash, user may get an error while attempting so:“The item '
In the earlier versions, i.e. Mac OS X 10.0 to 10.1.5, Home directory deletion is not easy as seeks for ownership of administrator, so we need to make use of Terminal application to do this. This is recommended to backup all the information that is required for future and then use the Terminal application to delete the former user’s Home Directory. We need to log in to the system as Admin user, open the application and type sudo rm -rf /Users/shortname\\ deleted, where ‘shortname’ is the name of former user, press Return, type Admin user password and press Return.
In Mac OS X 10.2 an later ,the folder lies as the compressed image file, with .img as file extension in /Users/Deleted Users/. So the administrator can either preserve the information for future use or drag it to Trash to delete. As the deletion has become easier, this is needed that user must carefully check for the contents before deleting as accidental deletion may create Mac Recovery needs. Lost data can be recovered by Data Recovery Mac software which can scan, locate and recover lost information and restore it at safe location.
Data Recovery for Mac utilities possess interactive interface and are safe for data. These software offer Mac Recovery in almost logical data loss scenarios, except when the data has been overwritten. Macintosh Data Recovery is a high-ending Mac Recovery application, which uses the most powerful scanning algorithms.
